| This is my entry for the paint off. I can't go on vacation, so my surroundings is my vacation. 8"x10" oil on canvas. This is from photo taken at the beach down the road from my apt at sunrise. |

Nice work Heather. Isn't it funny how WE think "Gee, it sure would be great to take a vacation somewhere...." But yet, every summer and fall people actually PLAN their vacations to come here to New England!

Hi Heather,
You make me yearn for the beach and a walk along the waters edge. My wife and I usually go camping on the barrier islands off the Texas coast several times a year. Isn't it funny that within us what is one persons backyard is another's treasure. I like your painting.

Thank you Leon, I was brought up on the ocean so I feel more at home there, when young I had mountains, and cliffs that reached to the sea, rolling meadows, everything in one spot - the place is New Zealand in the south island near bottom of east coast.
Yes Jess I have seen them. I lurk in the watercolor section, but don't critique much as I am not a watercolorist, unless it is a style that I am familiar with, then the medium doesn't matter. |

I adore this painting the sand is wonderfull and gritty, and the reflection is very striking.
I think I would like just a hint of the golden glow reflecting of the beachcomber, not sure if it is there as the picture is so small but of course it is only a personal preference.

Nice painting Heather. The sand and the water movements have come out really well.
Was the reflected sunlight was as white as it appears in the painting? I thought there could be more yellow / orange rather than pure white.

Thank you everyone for looking in and for your comments. Yes, the light was VERY white, I actually didn't put as much white as there was. And being so early in the morning, the silhouette was completely dark, no reflections off figure at all, he was wearing dark clothing that didn't reflect any light at all. And I wanted it to be the way I saw it just this one time.
It is in auction in ebay under NFAC, in special contest, won't do that again, with only two days to go I have two bids at $1.75. The rules stated we had to list them starting at 0.99 cents and only in one category, which is very limiting. That means a buyer cannot find them unless you are looking for that specific category. So I hope the person who wins really appreciates the deal they get. |

| It is ridiculous, the canvas cost me more than that, I won't be entering this contest again. (sigh) we live and learn. The people tell me that the serious bidding is on the last day, we'll see. Thank you for saying it is beautiful and for your support. At least with my other one "Morning Glory" (posted here) it will be my own listing so hopefully will make up for this one. |

I hope you get some really serious bids for this painting. It is a wonderful painting, and that it should have only two bids at $1.75...should I laugh or cry!!!

| Thanks Sandeep, only four people have decent bids, mine is now up to $10.50 at least that covers the cost of canvas etc and the listing fees. Still hoping for a little profit though. |

| No it went for $10.50 but the person hasn't paid yet, it has been 3 days, so hoping he/she doesn't, then I can relist it. If payment comes in, then they got a really good deal! |
