Hi Bert,
I like the way you captured your subjects expression. She looks like she's having fun. I see that you are into astronomy. I live about 20 miles from Mcdonalds Observatory and there are a lot of people here in this area of WestTexas that have moved here for the clear nights inorder to practice that hobby after they retire.

Hi Leon, thank you. I forgot to mention it is 24x20.

I live in a retirement community in Arizona, near the Whipple obsevatory, and about 40 miles from Kitt Observatory.

I made a few refinements, so I think it's done.

I definitely like the changes in the background color and the detail work on her hand. Nice painting Bert

Thank you Jess, I did a few things in the head also, but in such a small photo, they are harder to see.

Hey Bert, Wonderful painting, I love the feeling you get looking at it! You feel you know her and her personality. A very warm painting, the work you did on the hand really made a difference!

Thanks Retha. I thought it was done, but after viewing the high res on my computer, I decided to put it back on the easel.

These are the changes I've made. I should stop now as I deliver it next week and it should dry.

love the warmth of the bg and her top..gorgeous marrying of compliments...
a lil touch of french ultramarine added to the mix used in her top...would have deepened the shadows
a tiny bit without interferring with how softly it is done....

i do see a bit too much green i think in the face...but it might just be the value was a tad too light, not that it was wrong...

how did she like the portrait??

Hi Bert,

You have captured an interesting expression. What was she thinking?

Hi one, She didn't like the pose I picked but did mention that I am getting better. I told her she could use it to scare the rabbits from her garden.

Hi Richard, thanks. I have no idea, unless she thought "if you paint this I'll hit you"
