This little faerie is resting in her favorite tulip, tired because springtime is sooo busy!  Size is 2.5x3.5 inches.

Your detail is great - especially her eyes, and in such a small area. A job well done. I have never done a miniature before so I am not sure if I have the patience (my "miniature" is 9 x 12 as far as I am concerned for now :-))))

Thank you Frank for stopping by. Your comments are appreciated. If you can do a 9x12 you can also do a miniature (with a magnifying glass) The miniatures take about the same amount of time as a larger painting. It is more about keeping the hand steady (and the cat away from me) than anything else.

Hi Heather,
I really like the expressiveness of the eyes.

Love this one Heather I think the glow on her forehead and nose really make her beautiful skin stand out. And the eyes look wonderful. Nice work!

Thanks Jim(M),
Yes, I am painting more lately, have been having some really good days, and fewer bad ones. I will be posting an oil portrait soon - regular size 11x14 - that I have been working on also. Thank you for the encouragement.

loverly work, she feels dainty and fairy/elfish like for sure...heather? have you tried the lights that attach to your table that have a magnifying glass as well as the light to draw by?....i was gifted one years ago, and find it soooo valuable when doing graphite or cp tight work!....

OWS,
You read my mind! I have been using this dinky little magnifying glass and have to hold it which is difficult when painting. My new gorgeous magnifyer on a heavy stand with adjustable arm, 4" dia lens 10x power, arrived on Friday. I am sooo happy. I already have an OTT-LITE that I clamp to my table. It also has adjustable arm and adjustable hood, which is great when my eyes are sensitive and light is a little too bright for me, then I just turn the hood a little to reduce brightness.....

Thank your for your comments about my work, it is a great feeling to be encouraged.
