Hi Lostjandal,
Interesting piece! When I first saw your work I thought of Akenaten and Atenism. It has a feel about it of that liberal period. Welcome to the forum.

Lostjandal,
Welcome to the forum. A beautiful painting that tells a story of the ancient times. The only thing that concerns me is the drabness of the blue aura around the head, did you really see it that drab? That is the crown chakra and the color is usually bright on someone like this with lots more white in it. Just a thought I had.

thanx heather i agree that i made a hash of that "hair" bit i tried 2 bring sum more life in2 it by putting the blue behind the charcoal layers and as 4 chakras and the like i know nothing of them other than they exist although i am curious about wot others have seen b4 i would prefer 2 paint my own vision and move forward from that.unfortunatly i cannot correct the mess in the hair bkoz i do not own the peice anymore, thanx again i will look 4 ur work on this site

Oops, sorry. I thought that was part of the aura around the head, not hair. Ignore my suggestion. I saw him as having a shaved head and that was the crown part of the aura in blue. Never mind that, the body is beautifully done.

Very cool, reminds me of the 60's, you probably are much younger, very nicely executed!

hi and welcome to artistsnetwork!....a very nice piece...the anatomy feels really good......the stretch of the head tilted back is marvelous....but i agree about the hair....sorry.... since he is male, one wouldnt see that much hair in that way, the lifted chin would tend to make the hair fall back a bit...or nearly not be seen...

but isnt that how we learn? each additional image you work on....teaches you something else...the more you work? the more ya learn...so welcome to the rest of the addicted souls who try to paint!
