I think I like this one even better than your floral and water posting. Those red plants in the lower left draw you right in. The flow of this is a text book example of how to do it. You have separation of planes and fade off in blues, just the way the eye sees it. I love the tall sky, reminds me of Sisley. Nice work!

Gorgeous painting! I love the way you paint flowers. The texture really translates well.

Anna, I love the way that you handled the snow in this, it sparkles like ice. Very nice! I have a lot of trouble with snow, I know it is difficult. Good Job!

Anna,
This is stunning - I love this winter scene, so crisp. It has everything a painting should have.

Hi Anna.....
Not sure if I'll get a painting in there, but my stippling picture may be done by then.....I can only HOPE! I think it's almost finished.

Hi Anna,
Thanks for asking about the show. At the last minute I decided not to enter. It was a two-day show and I found out the day before that the site was not secure after show hours, and as I could not be there, I felt too uncomfortable with that. I do plan to enter the ‘all-media paint-off.’ I have yet to start on a painting. I’ve been looking on the porch or around the yard at what’s in bloom. My roses have buds on them and may be in full bloom soon, although the potted Waxed Begonia looks pretty. The Indian Paint Brush is in bloom now. It’s hard to make a choice. I look forward to seeing your work in the new forum.

Hi Heather, Retha
Thank you All for your kind comments.

-Leon, You're welcome.
I too if I feel unsecure I won't submit my paintings either.
See you in the new forum if I can make it in time.
If not I still love to see your work in there and here.

-Jess, If you don't have enough time to do another painting for the new forum.
By then if you finish the Orchids painting I wonder if you can post it in the new
forum instead of in the Drawing forum?

Anna.

its a sparkling lil gem.....i agree with all the others......but would like to add a comment or two..~cringe~

its correct about the colors fading to more bluish tones to create depth in the distance....but you ended up using a touch of violet instead of permitting it to go to the more blue/colder instead of warmer tones...
red tends to shorten the depth....so when using read be aware that it should be nearer the viewer when possible....instead of futher into the depths....

there seems to be all the same sized plants/trees/shrubs...the nearest on the right feels like a small shrub..and i dont feel the ones in the distance are trees, they feel like shrubs too? maybe a bit more variation in the folage/structure would help define a bit more...as well as remembering to fade the intensity of your values as your trying to create depth too....that last plane of snow....before the green area? is very sharp edged...if that is supposed to be more into the distance it would be softer edged...less defined...

and one more thing!......i dont want any more snow where i live! eh...sorry i just had to say that!....lol

Great job on your clouds and mountains. Also your depth of field is very good.

Hi One who sees,
I appreciate your comments.
This is a commissioned painting. I painted what the customer wanted and
they had it now.
If I hadn't delivered it I would make some changes as suggested.
But thank you anyway for your comments.
I will keep them in mind for my future painting.
I too don't want any more snow may be only in my painting...lol.
Thanks.
Anna.
