This is an oil painting I did of Marylin using a black and white underpainting in grey tones and then glazing in color.

Reminds me of an old movie poster. Looks great to me. Did you built up with thin glazes of paint over the blk. & wt. or is the paint thick? scochran

Thanks for posting both. Very cool seeing them together. The lights and shadows on her hair and skin are well done. I like the work on the boa too.

underpainting. Planning the tonal values in greys made the painting so much easier
but it also means painting the painting twice.

Yes, and the old master are the best teacher. Just visit museum and we learn more than many painting course.

You stuff always amazes me. I haven't been on in a while and I'm waiting for a painting to dry so I can move on to the next step. So... Thought I come in and see how you guys are doing.

Glad to see you continued to post your work though the Winter.

Where's Sam? I don't see any of his stuff posted.
