There are two images in this abstract. Do you see them? What do you see?

When I did this I had no idea how it would turn out.I put a thick coat of gesso on masonite and used
a notched trowel to give the surface texture with swirling lines and used spray paint to give areas
of color in red and blue. Slowly an image appeared. Then I saw another that would be part of the
original image but entirely different. Do you see what they are?

I plan to paint a large painting of this abstract 5ft x 6ft to replace a painting that I recently sold to an art gallery. Abstract and modern art must be large to be effective.

Good morning.........I see the Statue of Liberty in front of a skyline, I think. Am I right or is this just a memory of NYC that I am picking out? Good luck on the larger painting! You'll never get it the same, will you, with wet on wet? Anyway, it looks great. Boy, how I'd love to see some of these paintings in real life. I can tell by my postings how different they may look as opposed to the real thing.

The other image that comes to mind is possibly Mary and Jesus........But I'm not really sure I'm getting that.It kind of depends how I tip my screen on my laptop that determines what I see, even the richness of the colors is affected. How I'd love to see these originals! Go to www.eyekons.com Then click on Current Exhibition, and then find the paintings of Julie Quinn..........Beautiful abstract paintings, I think you'll agree.

Gene..... you're getting close, it isn't Mary and Joseph but it is male and female. Stare at the picture and an image will form once you see the first image you will see the second one, and thanks for the e-mail address for the gallery. Richard

Richard... I have a pretty vivid imagination, but I just don't see the man and the woman in this painting. I give up! How about explaining what we're looking at. Ron

rpartin, O.K. Here goes ... The blue in the center of the picture suggests a male nose. The shadows on either side suggest the eyes forming the face of a male. The shadows above the eyes form the shape of a woman's breasts. If you concentrate on these two thoughts, you should see the images of a man's face and a woman's body.

Very illusional. Yes I see what you are explaining. Your mind is very imaginotive. I like the piece. Certainly makes one focus. Draws attention. When I was young. I used to spend hours making pictures in the clouds. This remind me of that.

Johanna, I did the same thing when I was young. That's what imagination is all about.
Thank you for the memory.
