So I decided to incorporate a Degas print into the painting. The portrait suddenly took on a new life. What do you think? gene Posts:1236 11/29/2006 7:47 AM Alert  Great idea!!   The Degas looks almost like an original Degas.   I wish I could see the portrait of the girl in better detail.   On my computer screen she looks a bit flat, but I'm sure it's because of the screen image that I can't see the change in values, etc.   I like it, though.   I don't know how I missed this one earlier in the month.   I really like your idea of incorporating the painting in your painting! There is something about her dress...the color, the use/lack of shading...I can't put my finger on it, but it is almost as if she is not grounded/placed into the rest of the image. She doesn't quite exist on the chair. I like the piece overall!
