I've never done mixed media before and I have to say this started out
as an abstract that I overworked using water cleanable oil paints, so I blended everything together and got a nice dark green with lighter green and some yellow highlights and let it dry. I took some pastels and acrylics and went to work on what I saw in the green background and this is what I found. Please let me know what you think.

I think this is wonderful Jim...again...glad I took a look on this thread...

I would think people would like this...very unique without trying to be 'messagy'.

Especially like the glow in the lower left area!

now your cooking, youve got the colour happening there, nice golden light, and dark shapes you should see if you can remove a step more back from reality in the next one.

Jim, this is such a beautiful painting. My first thought was those beautiful, haunting landscapes in the deep south and the marshes and swamps. It really has a lot of feeling too, great work!~
