the photos are copied (rumor has it you can do the process with inkjet prints, but i haven't tried yet).

underpaint the canvas with acrylic based on the photo. remember it will be reversed after transfer. also added some gold leaf on these

coat the copy with clear caulk (yes, from the hardware store)

place the copy, wet caulk side down on the cavas and smooth it on- using the back of a spoon or brayer- carefully so the paper doesn't tear. the bubbles in the farmhouse one are probably caused by too much caulk unevenly applied- but i like the texture

let sit overnight, then place a damp towel on the paper, or spray it lightly and rub the paper off with your finger. as the paper comes off, your photo image appears. to protect the image if you want to do more work on it spray a matte medium. i had to redraw some of the flower with mechanical pen b/c i washed some lines off.
