I have another attemp to make Prisma look like a painting.  I did this with Prisma and the background is done in Acrylic. I used acrylic to cover a large area with single color although I mixed two colors. I thought I'd show it to you. Comments welcome.

I would say you were successful. It certainly looks like a painting to me.
Very nice work!

Your work is really incredible. That vase is just amazing! My only crit would be that the flower basket and the apple right in front of it, looks a little flat compared to everything else in the picture. I realize that they are in the shadow of the other things. Maybe some darker shadows inside the basket would bring it out more. I bought my first Prismas yesterday! YIPPEEE! I hope that someday my work will be even 1/2 as nice as yours!

Thanks a lot Ron, Jess and Suzanna for all the nice comments. Jess, I can see what you mean, I'll try to darken the shadows inside the basket and see what happens. Thanks for your suggestion. Good luck with your Prismas, have fun and I'm sure you'll do fine with them. I was frustrated with the first few drawings that I did but I'm getting comfortable using them now.

Thanks LMP01.....

Colored pencils are definitely a switch from what I'm used to. I started using them last night. Although I'm not entirely happy with my first results......the learning process is fun. I just have to keep in mind that even if I'm unhappy with the first 20 pictures......it might just be the 21st that's a keeper! Thanks for the inspiration!

Very decorative and well done. You might want to reconsider the composition. The basket appears
to be sitting on the apples.

The vase is just beatuiful. I agree that the basket looks like it is setting on the apples. But your work is wonderfully done. Your flowers are great.Over all piece I would say is very successful. I know this was very time consuming. scochran

Hi Shana, Thanks for the kind words. I realized that the basket appears to be sitting on the apples. However, My main objective was to make it look like a painting, I realized I was concentrating more on that than on the arrangement. Yes it is very time consuming but I just worked on it little by little.

LMP01..........this is RICH! How do you get the colors so intense. My first try is rather pathetic, couldn't get the colors to look bright. This really does look like a 'painting'. Great job, .......I must go try another.

Hello LMP01,
I agree with Myrna about your ability to get such enriched colors. It’s amazing!
I like your painting and understand how one can get so focused on doing one thing that they forget to take a look at the over all result. I certainly have that problem. Have you been able to rework the painting yet? Keeping ones head in one place as you look at a subject that you are painting or doing a prelim sketch usually prevents perception problems, and I ought to know as I cannot seem to follow my own advice at times.

Beautiful. If you brought more red color on the bottom of the basket it would show that it is really sitting on the table. Your vase glows!

I agree about the composition. If you were to do another one like this, I think I would suggest bringing the blossom on the table forward a bit. Maybe even have it come off of the picture a bit. Also, I find the bottom of the basket almost directly on line with the table. That just seems to be distracting to me. I love the way you handled the gold vase. Very nice................Gene
