I've been trying to get some illustrations ready to send out to children's book publishers, but everywhere I read, it said tearsheets can be sent, and if you have a book dummy with illustrations, send that too. But no one can tell me how to go about making a book dummy, and if you've never had anything published, how can you send a tearsheet. Is there anything equivalent to this for those who are still virgins to the publishing world?

Check on-line for the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators. It might come up if you just type in SCBWI. They can answer any and all questions you might have (including any legal questions)....but I'm not sure if you have to become a member first. They have a huge support network. Good luck!
